Following our recent survey The Inaugral “LGBT International Powerlifting Championships”, will happen 28th, 29th and 30th July 2017.<\/span>

The championships will be hosted by Gay Games Powerlifters Chris Morgan and Dominic Patmore with the assistance of Bethnal Green Weightlifting Club in London \u2026\u00a0<\/span>

Bethnal Green Weightlifting Club was established in 1926 and is well known for its strong commitment to diversity within the communities it serves.\u00a0<\/span>www.bgwlc.co.uk<\/a><\/strong>

We are very grateful for their offer of assistance with equipment, officials and platform staff to run this event. The LGBTIPC will be held in London in both 2017 and 2018.<\/span>

Please note the powerlifting weekend in 2017 is scheduled to be the weekend before The UK\u2019s Biggest Pride Festival\u00a0<\/span>www.brighton-pride.org<\/span><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Brighton is on the South Coast of England and is only one hour from London by train. An ideal opportunity for our International Guests to make a summer vacation of their trip.<\/p>\n

In 2018 we plan to run the Championships the same weekend, which will be the weekend before the Opening of Gay Games in Paris.<\/p>\n

Paris is only two hours from London by Eurostar and “Team Powerlifting” we will be able to attend the Opening Ceremony and Parties as a group.<\/p>\n

LGBT International Powerlifting Championships – London 2017<\/p>\n

This a Non Sanctioned Event – Using IPF Rules. There are no qualifying standards for this competition. All lifters are welcome regardless of experience, ability or health status.<\/p>\n

Competition Day \u2013 Please note all events will run at the same time.<\/p>\n

Athletes will either enter Full Power, Push & Pull, or Single Lifts as we plan to run flights \u201cBack to Back\u201d!<\/p>\n

It may be possible for Single Lift athletes to enter both Unequipped and Equipped categories once we know the likely overall numbers.<\/p>\n
